Abstract
This thesis examines the challenges and opportunities of designing mixed-use high-rise buildings in a Danish context. Mixed-use means bringing different functions together in one building, such as living, working, and services. The goal is a contemporary solution that balances practical performance with high architectural quality, taking advantage of both building tall and combining uses. The design aims to define a new type of high-rise for Denmark. Rather than just a striking glass-and-steel icon, it is layered, with qualities that emerge through deeper analysis of the building’s composition.
