Abstract

Dette projekt udvikler et eksternt Wavefield Synthesis-objekt til den visuelle programmeringsplatform Max/MSP. Wavefield Synthesis (WFS) er en lydteknik, der bruger rækker af højttalere til at genskabe en lyds bølgefelt og skabe overbevisende indtryk af virtuelle lydkilder i rummet. Objektet, kaldet [wfs~], er skrevet i C med Max SDK og udviklet i Xcode IDE. Afhandlingen gennemgår baggrundsviden i psykoakustik (hvordan mennesker opfatter lyd), C-programmering og metoder til bølgefeltsyntese. [wfs~] blev vurderet på, hvor præcist det kan genskabe virtuelle, statiske (ikke-bevægende) lydkilder, og blev sammenlignet med softwaren WFSColider. This project develops an external Wavefield Synthesis object for the Max/MSP visual programming environment.
