Abstract
Dette speciale undersøger, hvordan servicedesign og kollaborativ læring kan bruges til at tilpasse en AI-designsprintworkshop til børn. Udgangspunktet er en eksisterende workshop udviklet af designbureauet 33A, som normalt hjælper virksomheder med at forstå og tage AI i brug. Projektet blev gennemført i samarbejde med 33A fra februar til maj 2020, hvor bureauet også så potentiale for at gøre AI mere tilgængelig i uddannelsessektoren. Med en servicedesign-tilgang—det vil sige at planlægge og organisere en service på tværs af mennesker, steder og kontaktpunkter—kortlagde vi børnedeltagernes brugerrejse gennem workshoppen. Vi brugte kvalitative metoder, et journey map (brugerrejsekort) og teori om kollaborativ læring (samarbejdslæring, hvor elever lærer sammen gennem struktureret samarbejde) for at forstå deltagernes oplevelser, samarbejdsbehov og motivation. På baggrund af dette udviklede vi et servicekoncept, der bygger videre på 33A’s workshop. Vi foreslår nye, målrettede trin og kontaktpunkter samt elementer fra kollaborativ læring, som kan guide og støtte børnene i gruppearbejde. Vores analyse viste, at samarbejde kan være udfordrende for børn, især når de skal løse problemer med AI, og derfor fokuserer tilpasningen på tydelig vejledning, struktur og samarbejde for at forbedre både læringen og den samlede oplevelse. Den tilpassede brugerrejse blev afprøvet sammen med 33A i maj 2020 under en fjern, online AI-designsprintworkshop for børn. Forslaget blev afleveret som en produktrapport, der beskriver, hvordan de nye kontaktpunkter kan integreres i den eksisterende service og hvilken værdi de kan give for både brugere og serviceudbyder. Afslutningsvis reflekterer specialet over servicedesignprocessen og drøfter, hvordan indsigterne kan være relevante ud over denne case.
This thesis explores how service design and collaborative learning can be used to adapt an AI design sprint workshop for children. The starting point is an existing workshop developed by the design agency 33A, originally aimed at helping companies understand and adopt AI. The project was carried out with 33A from February to May 2020, during which the agency also identified education as a promising area for making AI more accessible. Using a service design approach—planning and organizing a service across people, places, and key interactions—we mapped children’s user journey through the workshop. We applied qualitative methods, a journey map as the main tool, and collaborative learning theory (students learning together through structured cooperation) to understand participants’ experiences, collaboration needs, and motivation. Based on these insights, we developed a service concept that builds on 33A’s workshop. We propose new, tailored steps and touchpoints, along with elements from collaborative learning theory, to guide and support children in group work. Our analysis showed that collaboration can be challenging for children, especially when tackling AI-related problem solving, so the customization focuses on clear guidance, structure, and teamwork to improve both learning and the overall experience. The customized user journey was tested with 33A in May 2020 during a remote, online AI design sprint workshop for children. The proposal was delivered as a product report describing how the new touchpoints can be integrated into the existing service and the value they could provide for both users and the service provider. Finally, the thesis reflects on the service design process and discusses how the findings may be relevant beyond this case.
