Abstract

Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan servicedesign og teorier om kollaborativ læring kan bruges til at tilpasse en AI Design Sprint-workshop til børn. Arbejdet er lavet i samarbejde med designbureauet 33A (februar–maj 2020) og tager udgangspunkt i deres eksisterende AI Design Sprint som case. Servicedesign handler om at planlægge hele oplevelsen af en service set fra brugernes perspektiv. I projektet beskrives forløbet som en brugerrejse (de trin deltagerne går igennem) med forskellige touchpoints (konkrete kontaktpunkter som invitationer, instruktioner og øvelser). Kollaborativ læring handler om at lære gennem samarbejde. Med kvalitative metoder og servicedesignværktøjer brugte vi især et rejsekort (journey map) til at forstå børnenes oplevelser, samarbejdsbehov og motivation gennem forløbet. På den baggrund udviklede vi et servicekoncept oven på den eksisterende workshop: nye trin og kontaktpunkter samt elementer fra kollaborativ læring, der gør forløbet mere tilpasset og samarbejdsvenligt for børn. Vi fandt, at børn ofte kæmper med gruppearbejde, når de skal løse problemer med AI; derfor lægger vores forslag vægt på tydelig guidning gennem sprintens faser og støtte til samarbejde for at forbedre læring og oplevelse. Den tilpassede brugerrejse blev afprøvet sammen med 33A i maj 2020 i en fjern, online AI Design Sprint-workshop for børn. Resultatet blev afleveret som et produktnotat, der viser, hvordan de nye touchpoints kan integreres i den eksisterende rejse, og hvilken værdi de kan give både brugere og serviceudbyder. Afhandlingen reflekterer desuden over servicedesignprocessen og diskuterer, hvordan fundene kan være relevante.

This thesis explores how service design and collaborative learning theories can be used to adapt an AI Design Sprint workshop for children. The work was conducted with the design agency 33A (February–May 2020) using their existing AI Design Sprint as a case. Service design is about planning the entire service experience from the users’ point of view. In this project, the workshop is described as a user journey (the steps participants go through) with multiple touchpoints (specific moments like invitations, instructions, and exercises). Collaborative learning focuses on learning through working together. Using qualitative methods and service design tools, we primarily created a journey map to understand children’s experiences, collaboration needs, and motivation throughout the workshop. Based on these insights, we developed a service concept built on the existing workshop: additional steps and touchpoints, plus elements from collaborative learning to make the experience more customized and collaboration-friendly for children. We found that children often struggle with group work when solving problems with AI, so our proposal emphasizes clear guidance through the sprint phases and support for teamwork to improve learning and overall experience. The customized user journey was piloted with 33A in May 2020 during a remote, online AI Design Sprint workshop for children. The proposal was delivered as a product report showing how the new touchpoints can be integrated into the existing journey and the value they can provide for both users and the service provider. The thesis also reflects on the service design process and discusses the relevance of the findings.
