Abstract
This master's thesis examines how the Chinese technology companies Huawei and TikTok are securitized in the European Union, meaning they are portrayed and treated as potential security threats rather than ordinary market actors. Using constructivist theory, the thesis highlights how language, norms, and political debates shape perceptions of risk and interests and are used to legitimize regulatory responses in the EU.
