Abstract
Dette speciale præsenterer en proces- og designundersøgelse af et nyt bibliotek og kulturhus i Vejle, udviklet i samarbejde med Vejle Bibliotek, der skal forene biblioteket med musik- og kulturskolen. Projektets centrale spørgsmål er, hvordan arkitektur kan understøtte livslang, frivillig og uformel læring samt styrke social og miljømæssig bæredygtighed, samtidig med at tre forskellige organisationer integreres under ét tag. Metodisk bygger arbejdet på en integreret designproces med analyser af eksisterende bygning, sted og kontekst, brugerbehov og bibliotekets samfundsrolle, suppleret af case-studier (bl.a. Oodi og Dokk1), funktionsdiagrammer, by- og mikroklimatiske kortlægninger samt bæredygtighedsvurderinger som livscyklusvurdering, materialestudier og vandhåndtering. This master’s thesis presents the process and design of a new library and culture house in Vejle, developed in collaboration with Vejle Library, integrating the public library with the music and culture schools.
