Abstract

The topic of the project is an old factory building which is turned into a residential function. The transformation of the building symobolises the change of Aalborg as it leaves behind its industrial image, however the developing new identity incorporates the inherited values of the past. In addition, emphasis was taken during the project providing flexibility for the future changes. In conclusion, the design process leads to the expression of the designer’s own understanding of sustainability.
