Abstract
Rapporten præsenterer et forprojekt til et asylcenter i Danmark og beskriver ramme, idéudvikling, sted- og bygningsanalyser, koncept, designpræsentation, designproces og epilog. Projektet undersøger, hvordan arkitektur kan skabe nye kvaliteter i danske asylcentre med fokus på kropslig erfaring af rum (embodiment) og en tektonisk tilgang, hvor konstruktion og materialer er tydelige og meningsfulde. This report presents a preliminary design for an asylum center in Denmark and documents the framework, ideation, site and building analyses, concept, design presentation, design process, and epilogue. The project explores how architecture can improve Danish asylum centers by focusing on embodied experience (how spaces are felt and used by the body) and a tectonic approach that makes structure and materials legible and meaningful. The vision is to enable new forms of interaction between the asylum center and the wider society: a hospitable place that is safe and caring for residents, while also contributing to city life. Choosing a site at an old warehouse in Nordhavn positions the center as a catalyst for the area’s development. The architectural concept is six stacked volumes as a metaphorical continuation of the warehouse.
