Abstract
Midlertidige vandløb—vandløb der ikke fører vand hele året—er udbredte og vigtige i de semi‑aride middelhavsbassiner. Dette speciale fokuserer på Guadiana‑bassinet og indgår i et CEDEX‑projekt (Civil Engineering Research Centre of Spain), der videreudvikler en metode til hydrologisk karakterisering af perioder med ophør af strømning, med fokus på perioder med nul vandføring (ofte kaldet nul‑hydroperioder). Først blev den eksisterende metode anvendt på flere midlertidige vandløb i bassinet, udvalgt fordi de havde tilstrækkeligt lange dataserier. Derefter blev der gennemført analyser for at finde mulige forbedringer af metoden. Temporary rivers—streams that do not flow year‑round—are widespread and important in semi‑arid Mediterranean basins. This thesis focuses on the Guadiana Basin and contributes to a CEDEX (Civil Engineering Research Centre of Spain) project that advances a method to hydrologically characterize cessation‑of‑flow periods, with emphasis on times with zero discharge (often called null hydroperiods). First, the existing method was applied to several temporary rivers in the basin with sufficiently long flow records. Then, additional analyses were conducted to identify potential improvements.
