Abstract

Aalborg municipality has faced criticism for having built too many dwellings, and not necessarily in the type for which there was demand. They have now de-cided to form a data-driven strategy to better plan for future development. Using the concept of housing theory, which is explained and then used as a frame-work, this study seeks to analyze how quantitative data can be used to change discourse. With a con-structivist approach to statistical analysis, data on population and dwellings get analyzed, as well as the process of forming the strategy through interviews. The housing career in Aalborg is visualized through a model, and a perspectivation is added at the end, to address the situation in connection to the corona-crisis in 2020.
