Abstract
Aalborg Kommune er blevet kritiseret for at have bygget for mange boliger og ikke altid de typer, borgerne havde brug for. Som svar har kommunen besluttet at udvikle en databaseret strategi for at planlægge den fremtidige udvikling mere effektivt. Afhandlingen bruger boligteori som ramme og undersøger, hvordan kvantitative (numeriske) data kan bruges til at forme diskursen, altså den måde, man taler og tænker om boligforhold. Med en konstruktivistisk tilgang til statistik ser studiet på, hvordan tal bliver til, fortolkes og bruges. Det analyserer befolknings- og boligdata og belyser gennem interviews, hvordan strategien bliver til. Der præsenteres også en model, der visualiserer boligkarrieren i Aalborg, dvs. hvordan mennesker kan bevæge sig mellem forskellige boligtyper over tid. Afslutningsvis gives et perspektiv på situationen i lyset af coronakrisen (COVID-19) i 2020.
