Abstract
Projektet omhandler en byfornyelse på det gamle godsbaneareal i Aalborg, hvor kommunen lægger op til at den gamle Øster å skal åbnes ind over, samt at der skal skabes et videns miljø. Projektet lægger vægt på at lade historien fra de tidligere funktioner skinne igennem og bygger designet op omkring de bevarede elementer. Måden det nye campus er bygget op på giver uddannelserne åbne områder, hvor man skal være fælles om lokalerne med de andre institutioner. Dette er den nye måde hvorpå gymnasier bliver bygget og steder hvor det er bygget på denne måde har man haft tilpasningsvanskeligheder men er siden blevet meget glade for opbygningen. Projektgrunden vil også få Østeråen genåbnet ind over området, og områderne tæt på åen skal derfor bearbejdes så de virker indbydende både til leg og rekreation.
The project is about city development at the old roundhouse area in Aalborg. The municipality wants the old stream Østeråen reopened with a course through the site, and in connection a campus area for non-university educations. The project find the history of the site very important and the history from the former programs will therefore be displayed through the design. The campus are build on the new tendencies un education milieus with large open areas. The educations also have to be common with all the classrooms and laboratories. Other places this type of education milieu have been tried, the first periods have been confusing and stressful because the new types of classrooms, but after a while teachers and students have become to like the new type of education. The site will also have the Østerå reopened with a course through the site, and the areas close to the stream shall therefore be designed to invite to both play and recreation.
