Abstract
This thesis presents the development of a GSM-based localization module designed to be mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), i.e., a drone. It explains the analysis, hardware design and implementation, and the method used to estimate location from GSM signals. The work also covers route planning and control so the UAV can carry out the task, and it reports tests performed in a simulated environment. Finally, the thesis discusses the main limitations of the current solution and outlines opportunities for further development.
