This thesis examines how the digital audio workstation Ableton Live mediates the creative practices of contemporary musicians. Drawing on post-phenomenology (Ihde) and techno-anthropological perspectives, it explores technological mediation between musician, software, and world, focusing on how Ableton Live reshapes perceptions of music notation, enables visualization of sonic elements previously difficult to represent, and reframes notions of virtuosity in electronic music production.
