Abstract
This thesis investigates how the legal and social mechanisms of transitional justice have shaped post-conflict peacebuilding in Colombia since the 2016 Final Peace Agreement. It examines how civil society organizations, government institutions and international representatives navigate new legal frameworks and political changes, and how these interactions affect the protection of victims and children, including links to disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration. Grounded in Colombia's contemporary political and social context, the study focuses on where international norms and national policies meet local priorities, arguing that the 2016 accord provides an ideological foundation that blends global and local approaches to peace. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative design based on five semi-structured interviews with actors working in the field (including an NGO, an international organization, the Colombian Government and a foreign representative from the Danish Embassy) alongside analysis of the peace agreement. The thesis also calls for further research on child protection within transitional justice under current social conditions. The excerpt does not present detailed empirical findings.
