Abstract
In a competitive world, business process outsourcing promises to reduce costs. Unfortunately business processes are not yet pre pared to be moved around to take advantage of outsourcing. The stumbling point is the foundation that underlies the business pr ocesses. They do not support mobility. This thesis proposes a new foundation, mobile ambients, that enables the fine grained mo bility that is needed to make outsourcing efficient. The problem of making business processes mobile is analyzed and a design b ased on mobile ambients is made that fulfills the requirements found. A working prototype that supports mobile business process es is implemented based on the design.
