Abstract
Dette projekt beskriver udviklingen af et møbel til psykiatriske afdelinger, udført af tre studerende fra Industrielt Design på Aalborg Universitet. Produktet er målrettet psykiatrien, især lukkede afsnit, med fokus på sikkerhed, en tryg atmosfære og sansestimulering. Undervejs blev der gennemført interviews og møder med både personale og patienter på de psykiatriske afdelinger i Aalborg og Randers, som sammen med relevant litteratur og egne tests har formet retningslinjer for designet. Resultatet er en lænestol, der skal hjælpe med at berolige patienter og forebygge aggressiv adfærd ved at tilbyde sansestimulering, som kan lindre krop og sind. Ved at integrere stimuleringen i selve stolen bliver patienten mere selvhjulpen og behøver sjældnere at bede om udlån af separat sansestimulerende udstyr.
This project describes the development of a piece of furniture for psychiatric departments, created by three Industrial Design students at Aalborg University. The product is intended for psychiatry, especially closed wards, with a focus on safety, a supportive atmosphere, and sensory stimulation. Throughout the process, interviews and meetings with both staff and patients in the psychiatric departments in Aalborg and Randers, together with relevant literature and the team’s own tests, shaped the design guidelines. The result is an armchair designed to help calm patients and prevent aggressive behavior by providing sensory stimulation that can ease body and mind.
