Abstract

This thesis examines which steps Polish producers of commercial mining equipment should take to enter the Chinese market. Building on Poland’s long mining tradition and China’s large but evolving coal sector, it asks how firms can best identify opportunities, build relationships, and manage cooperation in China. The study uses a qualitative approach based on the author’s three‑month internship at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing, including participant observation at the China Coal & Mining Expo 2017 and conversations with Polish firms experienced in China, complemented by a literature review on the Chinese market, business culture, and the mining industries in China and Poland. Its main output is a practical five‑step framework: (A) get to know the market and potential partners, (B) prepare for meetings with Chinese counterparts, (C) negotiate contracts, (D) sign agreements and manage cooperation, and (E) evaluate cooperation. The thesis also outlines key business model elements (e.g., value proposition, customer segments, channels, partners) relevant to market entry and highlights the importance of cultural differences and safety and efficiency trends in China’s coal industry. Within the excerpt, no detailed empirical results beyond the framework are reported; the contribution is structured, practice‑informed guidance for Polish firms considering China.
