Abstract

This project examined a case of failed capacity-building occuring at an Interreg programme. The case was examined through a critical realist perspective, with a retroductive method. Data was gathered through interviews and document review. Starting with two working hypotheses, causal mechanisms were uncovered and some recommendations were made to the organisation in order to ensure that future capacity-building activities would yield better results.
