Abstract

I Danmark mangler én vigtig type rumlige data i de nationale databaser: bathymetriske data for søer, dvs. kort over sødybder. Denne afhandling gennemgår relevante datastandarder og opmålingsmetoder, også de historiske. Den beskriver historien bag kortlægning af danske søer og udarbejder en oversigt over, hvilke søer der er opmålt. Afhandlingen drøfter, hvordan man vælger passende standarder til fremtidig søkortlægning. Den foreslår, at crowdsourcing (VGI, frivilligt indsamlede geografiske data) kan bruges til at indsamle nye dybdemålinger, og belyser styrker og udfordringer ved denne tilgang. Den tester den lodrette nøjagtighed i forbrugerekkolodder (apparater, der måler dybde med lyd) og viser, hvordan man kan læse og behandle deres data. In Denmark, one important type of spatial data is still missing from national databases: bathymetric data for lakes, meaning maps of lake depths. This thesis reviews relevant data standards and surveying methods, including historical ones. It traces the history of Danish lake mapping and compiles an inventory of which lakes have been surveyed. It discusses how to choose appropriate standards for future lake mapping. The thesis proposes using crowdsourcing (VGI, volunteered geographic information) to collect new depth measurements and examines the strengths and challenges of this approach. It tests the vertical accuracy of consumer echo sounders (devices that measure depth using sound) and demonstrates how to read and process their data. Finally, it presents a Web-GIS that visualizes Danish lake depth maps and VGI contributions, includes an upload function, and outlines the metadata required for subsequent data processing.
