Abstract

Popular culture has long explored voyeurism, understood as watching others without being seen. As viewers, we participate in it when we choose to watch. This thesis analyzes three classic films—Peeping Tom (1960), Rear Window (1954), and Psycho (1960)—to investigate the roots of voyeurism in cinema and in us as audiences.
