Abstract
Urbaniseringen i Danmark skaber affolkning og nye udfordringer i yderområderne. Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan man kan afdække og styrke yder- og provinsbyers levedygtighed ved at samle viden om de nationale konsekvenser af centralisering og udvikle en metode, der belyser lokale forhold og bevarer særlige kvaliteter. Gennem en teoretisk og analytisk litteraturgennemgang udledes 9 kriterier, som samles i et analyse- og designværktøj til vurdering af levedygtigheden i danske yderbyer.
