Specialet undersøger, hvordan spilmekanikker kan bruges til at øge motivationen i et interaktivt, medieret læringsmiljø for guitar (fx en digital platform). Det forklarer centrale mekanikker, såsom tydelige mål, niveauer, udfordringer, hurtig feedback og belønninger, og hvordan de kan strukturere øvning i små, opnåelige trin. Arbejdet drøfter designhensyn ved at integrere disse elementer uden at fjerne fokus fra den musikalske læring: balancen mellem kortsigtede belønninger og langsigtet kompetence, støtte til autonomi og mestring samt fremme af kontinuerlig øvning frem for engangsleg.
