Abstract
Background: Many vulnerable children and young people in Greenland face social and psychological challenges and insecure attachment, which makes it hard to express feelings and seek help. Purpose: to examine how lifelogging technology can support them in articulating emotions and fostering reflection. Methods: A review of related work on questionnaires, biosensors, diary studies, and images/facial expressions informs the study. Using a Research through Design approach, the project engaged a class at GUX Nuuk in two focus group interviews, employing iterative design prototypes as tools for inquiry; interview data were analyzed thematically. Findings: Six themes describe needs around expressing feelings, highlighting the importance of privacy, the ability to share representations of feelings (and see development over time), writing emotions, and personally associating with chosen representations. Compared with existing solutions, these results suggest needs in the Greenlandic context are not fully met. Contribution: The prototype 'Pheel' was developed to address these needs and points to new design opportunities; the thesis also considers design implications, limitations, and future work.
Baggrund: Mange udsatte børn og unge i Grønland kæmper med sociopsykologiske udfordringer og usikre tilknytningsmønstre, hvilket gør det svært at udtrykke følelser og søge hjælp. Formål: at undersøge, hvordan lifelogging-teknologi kan støtte dem i at sætte ord på deres følelser og fremme refleksion. Metode: En gennemgang af relateret arbejde om spørgeskemaer, biosensorer, dagbogsstudier samt billeder og ansigtsudtryk danner afsæt.
