Abstract
Lysdesignere har brug for klare måder at vise kunder, hvordan et rum kan opleves. I stedet for at bygge fysiske mockups kan digitale værktøjer præsentere tidlige ideer. Dette speciale undersøger, i hvilket omfang Virtual Reality (VR) – som lader brugere opleve et computerskabt rum gennem et headset – kan støtte lysdesignere, når de præsenterer koncepter. Vi har designet og implementeret en VR-prototype med simple interaktive elementer, der skaber et virtuelt rum til at opleve lysideer. I forhold til tidligere værktøjer giver systemet mulighed for frit at udforske rummet og se dynamiske lysscener i realtid. Der blev gennemført en række tests for at afdække både styrker og begrænsninger ved løsningen. Resultaterne viser, at systemet har potentiale i lysdesigneres arbejdsproces, og at prototypen med yderligere forbedringer kan blive et pålideligt værktøj til at præsentere lysideer for kunder.
Lighting designers need clear ways to show clients how a space could feel. Instead of building physical mock-ups, digital tools can present early ideas. This thesis examines to what extent Virtual Reality (VR) – which lets people experience a computer-generated space through a headset – can support lighting designers when presenting concepts. We designed and implemented a VR prototype with simple interactive elements to create a virtual space where lighting ideas can be experienced. Compared with earlier tools, the system allows free exploration while viewing dynamic lighting scenes in real time. A series of tests was conducted to identify the benefits and limitations of this approach. The results indicate that the system has potential in lighting designers’ workflows and, with further improvements, could become a reliable tool for presenting lighting ideas to clients.
