Abstract
More people are moving from smaller to larger towns in Greenland, especially to Nuuk. This pattern is a form of urbanization, meaning a shift of population toward towns and cities. Research has linked urbanization in Greenland to political, social, economic, and historical factors, but few studies have asked movers directly about their personal reasons. This thesis addresses that gap through a qualitative interview study (in-depth conversations) to explore why people choose to move and how they experience the move. The aim is to add a person-centered, qualitative perspective to existing explanations of urbanization in Greenland.
