Abstract
Dette projekt undersøger byudvikling i udviklingslande med fokus på Mongoliet. Det ser på, hvordan urbanisering skaber både udfordringer og muligheder for beboere, og hvordan byer kan vokse på en bæredygtig måde. I Mongoliet betyder lange nomadiske traditioner, at permanente byer er et relativt nyt og stadig fremvoksende fænomen. Projektet kombinerer en analyse af den samfundsmæssige kontekst med en undersøgelse af et konkret sted for designinterventioner. På den baggrund præsenteres et designforslag, der skal starte en diskussion om, hvordan designinterventioner kan påvirke den lokale kontekst og støtte bæredygtig byudvikling.
This project examines urban development in the developing world, focusing on Mongolia. It explores how urbanization creates both challenges and opportunities for people, and how cities can grow sustainably. In Mongolia, longstanding nomadic traditions mean that permanent cities are a relatively new and still emerging phenomenon. The project combines an analysis of the social context with a study of a specific site for design interventions. Based on this, it presents a design proposal to start a conversation about the impact of design interventions in this context and on sustainable urban development.
