Abstract

Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan mennesker interagerer med indsættelig teknologi—enheder, der indsættes i kroppen—samt de motivationer, muligheder og udfordringer, der opstår. Vi gennemførte et todelt studie: Først analyserede vi 122 YouTube-videoer for at observere interaktion med indsættelige enheder i virkelige situationer. Dernæst gennemførte vi en online spørgeskemaundersøgelse for at supplere og nuancere data fra videoanalysen. Vores resultater viser, at indsættelige enheder primært bruges til adgang og identifikation samt til fritid og kreativitet. Samtidig hæmmes interaktionen af flere forhold: teknologien er stadig ny, de nuværende enheder har begrænsninger, og den omgivende infrastruktur er endnu umoden. Der er behov for yderligere forskning for fuldt ud at forstå konsekvenserne og de fremtidige muligheder ved indsættelig teknologi.

This thesis explores how people interact with insertable technology—devices that are inserted into the body—as well as the motivations, opportunities, and challenges involved. We conducted a two-part study: first, we analyzed 122 YouTube videos to observe real-world interactions with insertable devices; second, we ran an online survey to complement and deepen the insights from the video analysis. Our findings show that insertable devices are mainly used for access and identification, and for leisure and creative purposes. At the same time, interaction is hindered by several factors: the technology is still new, current devices have practical limitations, and the surrounding infrastructure remains immature. Further research is needed to fully understand the implications and future opportunities of insertable technology.
