Abstract

This report is written in collaboration with stick-2nature, an ongoing project. The goal is to make use of mountain pine from National Park Thy. The main challenge is to create a furniture line that embraces the trees’ natural curves. In addition, the project defines a design DNA—a set of core design principles and distinctive features—and develops production methods that can work with and benefit from the curvature of mountain pine, while involving local educational institutions and businesses. The vision of stick-2nature is to support both social and economic growth in Thy, backed by the business plans and branding developed in this master’s thesis.
