This thesis examines the competencies and skills leaders need in the civilian sector and the qualities required in the military, focusing on the transformation from soldier to civilian leader. Through a review of civilian leadership literature (e.g., Northouse) and US Army doctrine (Be, Know, Do, Army values, and leadership attributes), supplemented by Danish data from an interview with Lars Raae (Military Work) and a question set to a Master Sergeant, it explores which military competencies are transferable to civilian organizations. The findings reported in the provided text indicate that soldiers possess core leadership competencies and values useful in civilian roles and that the US Army framework is applicable in a Danish context, but many lack technical skills and experience applying them in civilian settings. Denne afhandling undersøger, hvilke kompetencer og færdigheder ledere har brug for i det civile erhvervsliv, og hvilke kvaliteter der kræves i militæret, med fokus på transformationen fra soldat til civil leder. Gennem en litteraturgennemgang af civil ledelsesteori (bl.a.
