Abstract

Denne rapport dokumenterer design og implementering af en track‑and‑follow‑funktion på en drone med en Cube Orange+ flyvekontroller. Systemet fungerer ved, at en ekstern enhed finder sin position via GNSS (satellitbaseret positionsbestemmelse), og en ESP32‑mikrocontroller sender denne position til dronen. Ombord modtager en anden ESP32 beskederne og oversætter dem til MAVLink‑format, så flyvekontrolleren kan styre dronen mod den modtagne position. Rapporten gennemgår NMEA‑kommunikationsformatet til GNSS‑data, den åbne ArduPilot‑autopilotplatform og, hvordan systemet blev afprøvet i simulation, før dets ydeevne blev vurderet.

This thesis documents the design and implementation of a track‑and‑follow feature on a drone using a Cube Orange+ flight controller. The system works by having an external module determine its position via GNSS (satellite‑based positioning), and an ESP32 microcontroller sends that position to the drone. Onboard, a second ESP32 receives the messages and translates them into MAVLink format so the flight controller can steer the drone toward the transmitted location.
