Abstract
Mange landdistrikter befinder sig i en ond cirkel: Færre indbyggere giver færre tilbud og job, hvilket gør områderne mindre attraktive og forstærker fraflytning. En måde at bryde cirklen på er at sikre, at folk kan komme til sociale relationer, service og arbejde. Gennem årene er den kollektive trafik flere steder blevet reduceret, hvilket har gjort nogle socialt udsatte og fået mange til at blive afhængige af bilen. Trafikmyndigheden i Region Nordjylland (NT) har derfor igangsat projektet Mainweb-West for at sikre, at alle har mulighed for mobilitet i landområder. Projektet kombinerer hyppige busafgange på hovedkorridorer med en supplerende ordning kaldet Plustur (FMOD). This master’s thesis examines that question in a community in Vesthimmerland Municipality. To understand everyday mobility, it considers the views of both a traffic planner and the local community. The study finds that public transport is valued more as a symbol of being connected and as a safety net that guarantees the possibility to travel, rather than as the preferred way to get around.
