Abstract
This thesis uses the Port of Aalborg as a case study to explore how its networking activities could support more sustainable solutions. It examines how the port builds and uses relationships with other organizations. The study draws on qualitative interviews with staff at the Port of Aalborg and five key partners, including companies and business networks. Guided by networking theory, the analysis looks at three types of connections: actor bonds (relationships between people and organizations), activity links (how daily work fits together), and resource ties (how assets and knowledge are shared or coordinated). The findings show that the Port of Aalborg is an active networker and collaborates closely with its partners. While networking is not yet used deliberately as a tool to achieve sustainability goals, it holds strong potential to do so in the future.
