Abstract

Afhandlingen undersøger, hvordan medarbejderinddragelse understøtter løbende forbedringer og bæredygtighed i Port of Aalborg. En spørgeskemaundersøgelse målte medarbejdernes holdninger til forandring og deres parathed til at deltage i miljøinitiativer. Studiet analyserede også virksomhedens miljøledelsessystem (dets processer til at håndtere miljøpåvirkninger) samt organisationsstruktur, strategi og kultur. Med afsæt i et teoretisk review sammenholdt med spørgeskemadata og virksomhedsanalysen præsenterer afhandlingen målrettede anbefalinger. Hovedresultatet er en praktisk værktøjskasse til ledelsen i Port of Aalborg med trin-for-trin retningslinjer for at introducere og fastholde medarbejderinddragelse i aktiviteter for bæredygtig udvikling og for at tilpasse virksomhedens strategi mod bæredygtighed. Værktøjskassen peger på, at aktiv medarbejderinddragelse kan fremme organisatoriske forandringer i Port of Aalborg og bidrage til at styrke dens konkurrencefordel.

This thesis explores how employee participation supports continuous improvement and sustainability at Port of Aalborg. A survey measured employees’ attitudes toward change and their readiness to join environmental initiatives. The study also examined the company’s environmental management system (its processes for managing environmental impacts), as well as its organizational structure, strategy, and culture. Drawing on a theoretical review together with the survey findings and company analysis, the thesis presents targeted recommendations. Its main outcome is a practical toolbox for Port of Aalborg’s management, offering step-by-step guidelines on how to introduce and sustain employee participation in sustainable development activities and how to align corporate strategy toward sustainability. The toolbox suggests that active employee involvement can facilitate organizational change at Port of Aalborg and help strengthen its competitive advantage.
