Dette kandidatspeciale, The Panel Building Algorithm, udarbejdet af Gruppe 21 på Architecture & Design ved Aalborg Universitet, undersøger præfabrikerede panelbygninger (bygninger samlet af fabriksfremstillede paneler) i Polen fra den kommunistiske periode (1952–1989), som udgør en væsentlig del af landets bygningslandskab. Specialet beskriver deres sociale betydning, tekniske kendetegn og visuelle udfordringer. Dernæst foreslås forbedringer for at hæve standarden, med fokus på den ydre arkitektoniske kvalitet, boligareal og bæredygtighed. Afslutningsvis reflekterer specialet over panelbygningernes fremtid og opfordrer til debat.
