Abstract
This thesis examines whether the approaches to entrepreneurship emphasized at an entrepreneurial university align with how entrepreneurs operate in practice. Within the university context, entrepreneurship education and a student entrepreneurship support program represent teaching and learning, while entrepreneurs outside the university represent practice. Using the effectuation–causation framework, the study conducts qualitative, semi-structured interviews with 12 participants (5 entrepreneurship students, 3 mentors from a student support program, and 4 entrepreneurs). Responses are analyzed across five themes: resource arrangements, views on risk, attitudes toward competition, handling unexpected events, and perceived control over the future. The comparison reveals no meaningful differences in the planned approaches reported by students, mentors, and entrepreneurs, suggesting that the university’s teachings and learnings are reflected in entrepreneurial practice. The thesis contributes to debates on entrepreneurship education by situating the findings within the effectuation–causation literature and highlighting an entrepreneurial university context.

Med udgangspunkt i rammerne for effektuation og kausation gennemføres kvalitative, semistrukturerede interviews med 12 deltagere (5 entreprenørskabsstuderende, 3 mentorer fra et studenter-iværksætterstøtteprogram og 4 iværksættere). Svarene analyseres på tværs af fem temaer: ressourcearrangementer, syn på risiko, holdning til konkurrence, håndtering af uforudsete hændelser og kontrol over fremtiden. Sammenligningen viser ingen betydende forskelle i de planlagte tilgange mellem studerende, mentorer og iværksættere, hvilket tyder på, at universitetets læring og undervisning kan genfindes i iværksætterpraksis. Specialet bidrager til debatten om entreprenørskabsundervisning ved at placere resultaterne i effektuation–kausation-litteraturen og belyse et entreprenant universitets kontekst.
