Abstract
Denne rapport præsenterer et designforslag til termiske bade i Carraras marmorbrud i Italien. I århundreder er stedet blevet formet af marmorudvinding og forbindes i dag mest med industri. Projektet undersøger, hvilke forandringer der kan indføres, hvordan området kan gentænkes med en ny funktion, og hvordan det kan bidrage positivt til både stedet og den nærliggende by. Hovedmålet er at udforme et resort, der giver området en ny offentlig værdi og styrker lokale relationer. Alle indgreb planlægges med omtanke for omgivelserne og i tæt sammenhæng med konteksten. Arbejdet følger en Integrated Design Process – en tværfaglig, iterativ metode – for at udvikle en helhedsorienteret arkitektonisk løsning.
This report presents a design proposal for Thermal Baths in the Carrara marble quarries in Italy. For centuries, the site has been shaped by marble extraction and is now mostly associated with industry. The project explores what changes could be introduced, how a new function can reimagine the area, and how it can contribute positively to both the site and the nearby city. The main objective is to design a resort that gives the place a renewed public purpose and supports local life. All interventions are conceived with care for the surroundings and in close connection with the context. Throughout, we follow an Integrated Design Process—a collaborative, iterative approach—to develop a holistic architectural proposal.
