Abstract

Dette speciale undersøger, hvordan persuasive teknologier - digitale værktøjer, der skal motivere eller nudge adfærd - kan støtte sundere spise- og indkøbsvaner. Det gennemgår eksisterende forskning og peger på et hul: at give hjælp på det rette tidspunkt, mens folk faktisk står i supermarkedet. For at undersøge dette blev der designet og afprøvet en smartphone-app, som sender beskeder og giver et enkelt overblik over deltagernes nylige dagligvarekøb sat i relation til den danske Madpyramide. Appen blev afprøvet i en feltundersøgelse med 11 deltagere over 5 uger. Undersøgelsen fokuserer på just-in-time støtte (påmindelser i beslutningsøjeblikket) og in-situ brug (i den virkelige indkøbssituation frem for i et laboratorium). Rapporten opsummerer designovervejelser for persuasive systemer under indkøb og afslutter med konkrete designforslag og anbefalinger til videre forskning.

This thesis examines how persuasive technologies - digital tools designed to motivate or nudge behavior - can support healthier eating and shopping habits. It reviews existing research and identifies a gap: providing timely support while people are actually in the supermarket. To explore this, we designed and tested a smartphone app that sends notifications and offers a simple overview of users’ recent grocery purchases mapped to the Danish food pyramid. The app was deployed in a field study with 11 participants over 5 weeks. The study focuses on just-in-time support (prompts delivered at the moment of decision) and in-situ use (in the real shopping setting, not in a lab).
