Abstract
This thesis examines how tattooed students at Aalborg University understand and talk about contemporary tattoo subculture. It asks what ‘tattoo culture’ means to them today, how they view the environment around tattoos, and whether they feel they belong to this culture. The study looks at the extent to which they identify with the subculture and how they position themselves in relation to it. By centering their perspectives, the thesis offers insight into how students navigate tattoo culture in a university setting.
