Denne afhandling præsenterer et designforslag til nye boliger på et forladt areal i Skive. Målet er at modvirke byens faldende indbyggertal ved at skabe attraktive rammer for hverdagsliv og fællesskab. Projektet fokuserer på social bæredygtighed, dvs. boliger der understøtter sociale relationer, deltagelse og fælles aktiviteter. Det sker ved at kombinere private boliger med fælles rum og funktioner på området (steder til møder, aktiviteter og praktisk brug). Bygningerne er placeret i klynger for at danne små nabolag og fremme kontakt mellem beboerne. Naturen er et nøgleelement, der knytter boligerne til landskabet og afspejler både stedets karakter og Skives identitet, som udtryk for forståelse af konteksten.

This thesis presents a design proposal for new housing on an abandoned site in the city of Skive. The goal is to help counter population decline by creating an attractive setting for everyday life and community. The project emphasizes social sustainability, meaning housing that supports social ties, participation, and shared activities. It does this by combining private homes with shared spaces and functions on the site (places for meeting, activities, and practical use). The buildings are arranged in clusters to create small-scale neighborhoods and encourage interaction among residents. Nature is used as a key element, linking the homes to the landscape and reflecting both the character of the site and Skive’s identity, demonstrating an understanding of the local context.
