Abstract
Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan pervasiv computing—hverdagsnær digital teknologi, der er indlejret i køkkenet—kan hjælpe studerende med at lave mere mad derhjemme. Arbejdet bygger på et litteraturstudie af pervasiv computing i hjemmekøkkenet, en spørgeskemaundersøgelse sendt til tre uddannelser for at kortlægge madlavningsvaner og årsager til ikke at lave mad, samt en workshop med ni studerende, der identificerede egne barrierer og udviklede idéer til mulige systemer. For at vurdere pålideligheden af litteraturanalysen blev der anvendt affinitetsdiagrammering (at gruppere relaterede fund) og algoritmen "Any-two agreement" til at beregne konsistensen af kodningen. Ved at krydsreferere resultaterne fra litteraturstudiet, spørgeskemaet og workshoppen peger afhandlingen på områder, der er relevante at udforske ved design af nye systemer med det formål at få flere studerende til at lave mad derhjemme.
This thesis examines how pervasive computing—everyday digital technology embedded in the kitchen—could help students cook at home more often. The work combines a literature review of pervasive computing in domestic kitchens, a survey sent to three degree programs to map students’ cooking habits and reasons for not cooking, and a workshop with nine students who identified their own barriers and generated ideas for potential systems. To assess the reliability of the literature analysis, the study uses affinity diagramming (grouping related findings) and the “Any-two agreement” algorithm to calculate coding consistency. By cross-referencing results from the literature review, survey, and workshop, the thesis points to areas worth exploring when designing new systems aimed at encouraging more home cooking among students.
