Abstract
Specialet tager udgangspunkt i Aalborg Kommunes plan for den sydlige del af Aalborgs midtby, hvor et tidligere industriområde omdannes til en bydel. Det meste af området er under opførelse, men området omkring Hjulmagervej mangler stadig en plan og opleves som en ø af industribygninger. Projektet præsenterer et koncept for gradvis byfornyelse, der skal føre skiftet fra industri til en blandet bydel med handel, kontorer og boliger. I takt med de nye funktioner ændres byrummene også, så de passer til den nye anvendelse.
This thesis builds on Aalborg Municipality's plan for the southern part of Aalborg's inner city, where a former industrial area is being transformed into an inner-city district. Most of the area is under construction, but the site around Hjulmagervej still lacks a plan and feels like an island of industrial buildings. The project presents a step-by-step urban renewal concept to guide the change from industry to a mixed-use environment with commerce, office space, and housing. As these functions are introduced, the outdoor spaces will also be redesigned to match the new uses.
