Abstract

This study examines how everyday interactions shape the social life of Aalborg Taekwondo Club – Soobak, focusing on how members relate to one another. Using qualitative interviews and observations, it shows how they communicate, learn and teach, and build social cohesion. The analysis draws on the concepts of communities of practice (groups who learn by doing together) and imagined communities (a shared sense of belonging to something larger than the immediate group) to describe collective action, knowledge sharing, and cultural exchange in the club. The findings clarify the mechanisms that hold the community together and indicate how a Danish taekwondo club can serve as a basis for future research on social interaction.

Dette studie undersøger, hvordan interaktioner former hverdagslivet i Aalborg Taekwondo Club – Soobak, med fokus på samspillet mellem klubbens medlemmer. Gennem kvalitative interviews og observationer belyses, hvordan de kommunikerer, lærer og underviser hinanden og skaber social sammenhængskraft. Med udgangspunkt i begreberne praksisfællesskab (en gruppe, der lærer ved at gøre noget sammen) og forestillede fællesskaber (en delt følelse af at høre til noget større end den nære gruppe) beskriver studiet, hvordan medlemmerne handler i fællesskab, deler viden og udveksler kultur. Resultaterne giver indblik i de mekanismer, der holder fællesskabet sammen, og peger på, hvordan en dansk taekwondoklub kan fungere som basis for fremtidig forskning i sociale interaktioner.
