This master’s thesis examines how Reykjavík, a city marked by high car dependence, might be “recycled” through urban design by prioritizing bicycling as a practical everyday transport mode. The central question asks whether a car-dominated city can be gradually transformed into a more livable, people-oriented city with mixed transport modes and new urban qualities by turning the focus toward cycling.
