Abstract
Long Term Evolution – Advanced (LTE‑A) er en næste generations 4G‑mobilsystem, som nu standardiseres. Fordi det skal levere meget høj ydeevne over radioforbindelsen (luftgrænsefladen), introducerer det nye funktioner i forhold til LTE. Afhandlingen vurderer ydeevnen af prækodet transmission i Time Division Duplex (TDD)‑systemer med fokus på open‑loop transmission, hvor basestationen ikke er afhængig af detaljeret kanalfeedback fra enheden. Prækodning er signalbehandling, der udføres før udsendelse for bedre at matche radiokanalen. Vi sammenligner flere prækodningsstrategier for at kvantificere de ydeevnegevinster, hver teknik kan give. De vurderede teknikker er Blind Transmission, Precoded Pilots og Phase‑Based Precoding. Vi måler også, hvordan forskellige systemparametre påvirker resultaterne, for at forstå deres indvirkning på ydeevnen af prækodede TDD‑transmissioner.

This thesis evaluates the performance of precoded transmission in Time Division Duplex (TDD) systems, focusing on open‑loop transmission, where the base station does not rely on detailed channel feedback from the device. Precoding is signal processing applied before transmission to better match the radio channel. We compare several precoding strategies to quantify the performance gains each can provide. The techniques assessed are Blind Transmission, Precoded Pilots, and Phase‑Based Precoding. We also measure how different system parameters influence results to understand their impact on the performance of precoded TDD transmissions.
