Abstract

Dette projekt undersøger, hvor godt den nuværende version af PlanEat-appen dækker brugernes behov, og hvordan et redesign kan forbedre den. PlanEat er en B2B (business-to-business) app, som diætister/ernæringseksperter, læger og personlige trænere bruger til at udarbejde skræddersyede kostplaner til deres klienter. Planerne genereres af en kompleks algoritme, der tager mange variable i betragtning for at gøre dem så præcise som muligt og dermed egnede til klinisk brug. Udviklingen af algoritmen er dog løbet foran brugeroplevelsen (UX) og brugergrænsefladen (UI), så potentielle brugere skal på kursus for at udnytte appen fuldt ud. Denne brugerbaserede undersøgelse havde til formål at identificere brugernes behov samt problemer i grænseflade og funktionalitet og at bruge resultaterne som grundlag for et nyt design af appens interface. Da antallet af personer med overvægt og følgesygdomme stiger i Slovakiet og andre lande, vokser behovet for ernæringsvejledning. Forbedringer af UI og imødekommelse af andre brugerkrav forventes at gøre appen lettere og mere effektiv at bruge og dermed understøtte udviklingen af overkommelige kostplaner og uddannelse på området.

This project examines how well the current version of the PlanEat app meets user needs and how a redesign could improve it. PlanEat is a B2B (business-to-business) app used by nutritionists, doctors, and personal trainers to produce tailored nutrition plans for their clients. Plan generation is powered by a complex algorithm that considers many variables to make plans as precise as possible, suitable even for clinical use. However, the algorithm’s development has outpaced the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI), so potential users need training to use the app effectively. This user-focused investigation aimed to identify user needs and pinpoint interface and functionality issues, using the findings to guide a new interface design. As obesity and related illnesses rise in Slovakia and elsewhere, the demand for nutrition guidance is growing. Improving the UI and addressing other user requirements should make the app easier and more efficient to use, supporting the creation of affordable nutrition plans and education in this area.
