Abstract
This study evaluates the potential of using formation/produced water for reinjection compared with low-salinity seawater (LSSW) and ordinary seawater. We apply a modified flotation technique in the laboratory, using synthetic seawater as a baseline and an oil sample from a representative North Sea field. The focus is on how reinjected produced water, alone or mixed with LSSW, influences rock wettability and whether this could serve as a method for enhanced oil recovery.
