Abstract

Dette projekt undersøger en Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), en strømomformer opbygget af mange moduler, og udvikler en metode til at styre den energi, der er lagret i den. For at gøre analysen mere overskuelig bruges en forenklet model, hvor der ses på ét enkelt ben af omformeren. I denne model repræsenteres de mange moduler i hver arm af én justerbar (variabel) spændingskilde. Med denne opstilling undersøges styringsstrategier, der både holder spændingerne i den øvre og nedre arm i balance og regulerer den samlede energi, der er lagret i benet. Målet er at opnå stabil drift ved at koordinere armspændingerne og den lagrede energi i den forenklede MMC-ben.

This project examines a Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), a power converter built from many repeated modules, and develops a method to control the energy stored within it. To keep the analysis clear and manageable, we use a simplified model that focuses on a single leg of the converter. In this model, the many modules in each arm are represented by one adjustable (variable) voltage source. With this setup, we investigate control strategies that keep the upper and lower arm voltages balanced and regulate the total energy stored in the leg. The goal is to achieve stable operation by coordinating arm voltages and stored energy in the simplified MMC leg.
