Abstract

The thesis opens with a foreword that explains the project’s background and outlines the author’s personal aims and expectations. Through close links between geomatics departments, encounters with Danish exchange students in Australia, and a desire to travel, the author chose an exchange at Aalborg University. The project examines management issues in the Danish marine environment within a relatively new field of research, building on work in the home department and applying it in a new context. The personal goal was to be challenged by studying in another country with a different environment and learning style, to gain new skills, and to value the experience itself. The thesis does not aim to overhaul Danish marine management, but to make a small contribution by offering ideas and supporting future research.
