Resumé
Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan podcastgenren “historie” praktiseres i Danmark, og hvordan dens undergenrer kan afgrænses og forstås. Med udgangspunkt i mediets vækst og dokumenteret efterspørgsel efter historieindhold analyseres genren gennem tre grundformater—The Quick Burst, The Narrative og The Chat Show—som beskrevet i eksisterende podcastforskning. DR Lyd og Spotify anvendes til at identificere populære danske historiepodcasts, og caseudvælgelsen (bl.a. Bakspejl, Kampen om historien, Tyran, Kongerækken, Tidkapslen og Vanvittig Verdenshistorie) belyser forskelle i formidling, stil og lytterforventninger. Metodisk kombineres genreanalyse med en forskningsdiskussion om public history og fandomkultur for at afdække anvendelsesformer og meningsbetydninger, herunder politisering, kommercialisering og fællesskabsdannelse. Formålet er at give historieformidlere og historikere et overblik over, hvordan genrekonventioner påvirker valg af podcasts og kan bruges til at målrette formidling. De konkrete resultater og konklusioner præsenteres i afhandlingens senere kapitler.
This thesis examines how the podcast genre “history” is practiced in Denmark and how its subgenres can be delineated and understood. Building on the medium’s growth and documented demand for history content, the analysis uses three base formats—The Quick Burst, The Narrative, and The Chat Show—drawn from existing podcast research. DR Lyd and Spotify are used to identify popular Danish history podcasts, and case studies (including Bakspejl, Kampen om historien, Tyran, Kongerækken, Tidkapslen, and Vanvittig Verdenshistorie) illuminate differences in delivery, style, and listener expectations. Methodologically, genre analysis is combined with a research discussion of public history and fandom to explore uses and meanings, including politicization, commercialization, and community-building. The aim is to provide historians and communicators with insight into how genre conventions shape audience choice and can guide effective podcast storytelling. Specific findings and conclusions are presented in later chapters.
