This project investigates how lighting design can strengthen identity, wayfinding, and social experience at Franciska Clausen’s Square in Carlsberg Byen by translating Clausen’s artistic language—rhythm, contrast, and geometric composition—into spatial lighting strategies. Guided by New European Bauhaus values, it asks how light can contribute to the identity of an outdoor place and reconnect the square’s industrial heritage, the Kedelhuset/Dansehallerne context, and its artistic namesake. The methodology is research-through-design combining site analysis, theoretical research, and conceptual development, structured by three criteria: Anthropology/Dwelling, Architecture/Identity, and Engineering/Orientation.
